Safety

Checked twice a day, every day

Every morning and evening your guide measures your blood-oxygen level and pulse, and asks about headache, appetite and sleep. The results go in a log your lead guide reviews before anyone moves higher. If the numbers say descend, we descend.

Fair pay, proper kit, lighter loads

Nobody reaches the summit without the porters. Ours are paid above the park minimum, on the last day and in full, and they never carry more than 15 kg of your gear. Every porter gets a sleeping bag, a warm jacket and boots, and eats the same meals as the guides.

“The Northern Circuit was empty and beautiful. Neema planned everything around our pace and the porters were clearly treated well.”

“I was nervous about the altitude. The twice-daily checks and an honest guide made all the difference. The food at 4,600 m was better than at home.”

“Baraka read the mountain and our group perfectly. He slowed us down on day three and that is why all six of us stood on Uhuru Peak at sunrise.”
